Samstag Museum
DOWIE DOOLE is proud to be the official wine sponsor of the University of South Australia's new Anne & Gordon Samstag Museum of Art.
The Samstag Museum celebrated its opening on 11 October 2007 with the exhibition Wonderful World, a project expressing the scope and sophistication of Australian contemporary art practice, and demonstrating the cultural ambition of the Samstag Museum of Art.
Formerly the UniSA Art Museum, the Anne & Gordon Samstag Museum of Art has been named in honour of these two distinguished benefactors to Australian culture, whose remarkable bequest is administered by the Samstag Program through the University of South Australia.
Designed by John Wardle Architects in association with Hassell, the Stamstag Museum is located in the Hawke Building and features three substantial and elegant exhibition galleries over two levels. It is a facility that communicates architectural distinction.
Located near Adelaide's other premier cultural institutions on North Terrace at the UniSA's City West campus, the Samstag Museum aims to stimulate, challenge and engage its audiences with a program of diverse and inovative exhibitions, publications and associated public activities.
Erica Green, the Director of the Samstag Museum said that the DOWIE DOOLE wine sponsorship is a match of two "quality boutique projects". We agree with her sentiments that patrons will be treated to a superb selection of wines at their openings and functions this year and will certainly enhance the appreciation of art.
For further information about the new Samstag Museum of Art and the exhibitions program please contact Erica Green, Director. Telephone 08 8302 0870; mobile 0438 821 239, email erica.green@unisa.edu.au or visit www.unisa.edu.au/samstagmuseum/
